Simple Ways to Reduce Your Stress

So much going on. So many details. Feels like very little time to get it all done. 

So how can you reduce that feeling of stress? That feeling of tightness in your muscles…

maybe a headache..shallow breathing… brain fog..?

Yes, a therapeutic hour long massage could definitely help; even a half hour.

But right now, you need some relief.

Some things you can do to help yourself:

  1. Keep Breathing… A long breath in and a long breath out. Do it a few times. The effect of breathing in, holding it, and breathing out slowly a few times is immediate.
  2. Go Outside.. for 10 minutes around the block or 1 hour on a trail. It will change your perspective and give you a re-set.
  3. Sleep … if you get less than 6 hours of sleep a night, try adding on a half hour the next night and an hour the next. You will feel better and move more easily through your day.
  4. Before bed… turn off the phone, the computer, the TV.. or at least step away from them. Give your eyes, your brain, your posture a break. The screen stimulation interrupts sleep and affects your nervous  system.
  5. Eat well.. It’s your fuel, Make it a priority.
  6. Connect with those you love..Connection supports your immune system, and plus, they enjoy being with you.
